Couture Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2015/16

I always look forward to couture fashion week and the Autumn/Winter 2015/16 collections didn't disappoint; the designers brought inspiration into their collections this season from romance to a love for Rome, and from art to angelic youthful fashion.

Elie Saab always has the most beautiful dresses fit for a princess, much of the collection was in gorgeous gold tones combined with the intricate beading Elie Saab consistently brings to the shows each season, conveying a goddess-like image with beautiful dresses floating down the runway.

The Valentino collection brought together the perfect visual for this seasons show.  The collection embodied Rome and the fashion house's love for the city - the capes, gladiator sandals, togas and gold detailing all conveyed a strong, modern message of Roman inspiration.  To perfect the visuals, the show was held in a piazza outside their atelier near the Spanish Steps in Rome - what an impressive way to integrate the surroundings with the beautiful collection.

Giorgio Armani Prive put their best foot forward and presented a collection in line with their signature tailored and structured designs.  The collection had a black base throughout while incorporating washes or bright flashes of colour in the form of pinks, purples and blues - the use of colour is very much the focal point of this collection.

Versace enlightened us with light chiffon layered garments, flared sleeves and flower garlands, while bringing soft, feminine colours to the hippy style in the collection.  The familiar Versace shapes and structure could still be seen in the show however paired with the feminine, soft layers created stunning dresses.
