The Inspiration Post #7

Happy Saturday blogging bunnies!

I love browsing fashion images for inspiration and ideas, and this month - although it may sound boring in Summer - I've been loving black, whites, greys and neutrals for fashion.  You can't go wrong with a black-on-black look and a full black or white look with a neutral coat, it just looks so well put together and really sets off an outfit perfectly.
If a neutral coat isn't your thing, another bold wardrobe staple is a leather jacket, it dresses up any outfit and adds some attitude..!

Simple blocks of colour look sophisticated and never go out of style, I've shared some of my favourite looks below...can you tell I'm getting ready for Autumn already?!  Let me what your favourite looks are!

Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate Review

Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Face Oil Review

I picked this up a month or so ago now and felt it was enough time to give the product a good try before reviewing it for you all.
I suffer from dry skin or dry patches at times and although I use a really thick, creamy moisturiser, I felt as though it just wasn't sinking right into my skin and working its magic through the night.

I hadn't tried any face oils before and did quite a bit of research before purchasing this Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate. What attracted me to it was so many great reviews!  Not just from blog posts but product reviews on websites selling the product and from friends who had used it too.   This face oil also seemed to be relatively good value for money compared to many other brands, only £36 and considering it lasts such a long time it seemed like a no brainer for me.

Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Face Oil Review

After even the first night of using this face oil I was impressed.  I only had to use 2-3 drops and the scent was pleasant, it also didn't leave an oily look or feel to my face - it sinks right in yet still keeps your skin moisturised to the touch.

Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Face Oil Review

Each morning after I use this Midnight Recovery Concentrate my skin looks refreshed and healthier, and feels soft and soothed, which is great considering my skin is pretty sensitive.  It also got rid of the dry areas of my face and, which probably surprised me most of all, it doesn't cause breakouts on my face.

The Midnight Recovery Concentrate incorporates many natural, essential oils such as Evening Primrose Oil and Lavender, providing your skin with a soothing surge of moisture overnight.

I now use this product anything from 1-3 times a week and it has made such a difference to my skin.
Have you tried this face oil yet?  If not, you need to purchase it asap!

Couture Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2015/16

I always look forward to couture fashion week and the Autumn/Winter 2015/16 collections didn't disappoint; the designers brought inspiration into their collections this season from romance to a love for Rome, and from art to angelic youthful fashion.

Elie Saab always has the most beautiful dresses fit for a princess, much of the collection was in gorgeous gold tones combined with the intricate beading Elie Saab consistently brings to the shows each season, conveying a goddess-like image with beautiful dresses floating down the runway.

The Valentino collection brought together the perfect visual for this seasons show.  The collection embodied Rome and the fashion house's love for the city - the capes, gladiator sandals, togas and gold detailing all conveyed a strong, modern message of Roman inspiration.  To perfect the visuals, the show was held in a piazza outside their atelier near the Spanish Steps in Rome - what an impressive way to integrate the surroundings with the beautiful collection.

Giorgio Armani Prive put their best foot forward and presented a collection in line with their signature tailored and structured designs.  The collection had a black base throughout while incorporating washes or bright flashes of colour in the form of pinks, purples and blues - the use of colour is very much the focal point of this collection.

Versace enlightened us with light chiffon layered garments, flared sleeves and flower garlands, while bringing soft, feminine colours to the hippy style in the collection.  The familiar Versace shapes and structure could still be seen in the show however paired with the feminine, soft layers created stunning dresses.

Benefit Dandelion Brightening Face Powder

Blusher is a key makeup staple I’ve always used ever since I started wearing make up in my awkward teen stage!  Safe to say I’ve tried quite a few and also tried a few gorgeous (and slightly disastrous!) colours for my pale complexion in my time.
Benefit Dandelion Brightening Face Powder Review

My favourite blush at the moment is Benefit’s Dandelion, a brightening face powder in a sheer, flush pink shade.  It’s such a gorgeous, natural looking blush shade for the cheeks and looks great on my pale skin.  It has a slight shimmer to it but it’s very fine, it’s also a great build-able blush to use.

Another use for this product is as a face powder, again – on some of my paler days, it makes my skin much more luminous and I think it will be great on tanned skin to give your face a healthy glow.

The size of the Benefit Box o’ Powders is so handy as they travel great, the box also has a mirror and a handy blusher brush with soft natural bristles – what more could you want!

Have you tried any of the Benefit Box o’ Powders?  One I’d love to try is the Benefit Hoola bronzer as it gets great reviews, Rockateur blush seems to be their best seller – have you tried it before?
